///////////////////////////// TWO-SONG TUESDAY ////////////////////////////////
[sign up 19:00 // start 20:00]
–> Beschreibung in Deutsch weiter unten

Calling all songwriters!
Calling all composers and instrumentalists and synth wizards!
Calling all poets and writers and storytellers!

Do you have new solo or duo material you’re itching to present?
Join us for Donau115’s regular open stage series, Two-Song Tuesdays.

Your set may include TWO SONGS or last TEN MINUTES.

“How do I get booked?”
Just show up // There is no pre-booking // Sign up opens at 19:00 (first come, first booked) // The first performer will begin at 20:00 // No soundcheck – so be ready. Slip on, blow minds, slip off.

“What can I play?”
This is entirely up to you. Out of respect for our neighbours:
– you may NOT use loud percussion and loud bass-heavy signals into the PA.
– you are welcome to use our backline, which includes:
— piano
— generic vocal microphones
— a small terrible PA, accepting guitar/XLR cables (new one coming soon!)

“But what about Covid-19”
Yep, we know. 🙁 No more than 25 people may be in our stage area at any time. Those wishing to enter after that capacity has been reached can enjoy a drink or a taco in the back room or outside on our sidewalk seating until more spaces become available.

“Anything else?”
Donau115 is a very fun but weird musician’s musician kind of bar, come expecting oddballs.

Mi, 19. August

Max Andrzejewski – dr, elec, voc
Johannes Schleiermacher – sax, fl, music easel, echo

TRAINING is the new duo of Johannes Schleiermacher (Sax, Flöte, Synth) and Max Andrzejewski (Drums, Synth, Electronics, Voice). A TRAINING for the most musical freedom, ecstasy and spirituality. Based on immediate, transparent, undogmatic compositional miniatures TRAINING is the tool, the springboard, the vessel for these needs.
The „maverick-aesthete“ Max Andrzejewski (SĂŒddeutsche Zeitung) and „limit bursting“ Johannes Schleiermacher (ZEIT) deepened their collaboration in the last 10 years by playing international tours with the award winning band „Max AndrzejewskiÂŽs HĂŒtte“. Since one year they focus on this personal duo project. Two highly creative players of the german scene in the somehow „seasonable“ line up – duo.

„Schleiermacher embodies the productive „island talent“ of a worldwide admired german Afro-Jazz-Funk-Szene.“ (SĂŒddeutsche Zeitung)
„Max Andrzejewski is one of the most famous drummers in Berlin and beyond.“ (Tagesspiegel)
„And then, saxophonist Johannes Schleiermacher works himself up into a noisy solo, which bursts all limits.“ (ZEIT)

Do, 20. August
Moshammers Trio

Bertram Burkert – guitar
Fritz Moshammer – trumpet/flugelhorn/composition
Alex Binder – electric bass

Acoustic chamber jazz, ballades and more

The sound of this trio is instrumental, impulsive and warm. Tired of loud environments the three musician dedicate this evening to quiet tunes – inspired by traditional music from Italy, Scandinavian instrumental music and vocal-like, lyrical Jazz.

Fr, 21. August
Andi Haberl

Sa, 22. August
Donau Conversations

Bernhard Ludescher – piano/synth
Tom Berkmann – bass
Mathias Ruppnig – drums

Donau Conversations is a monthly concert series presented by Berlin-based drummer Mathias Ruppnig. Each event will feature groups of varying styles and personnel, performing jazz standards, original music or free improvisation.

“For me, Donau115 is a place that allows new musical and personal friendships to form, as well as a place to experiment with innovative musical concepts in front of a respectful and attentive audience.“

So, 23. August
Miss Nöyd at Donau115 Sunday Brunch

As Miss Nöyd, Northern-Norwegian born Berlin-based Bente Lorentzen creates tender, melancholic and pure folk-pop. Her songs are for the weak and the wounded, the strong and the sensible, the lovers and the left-behinds.

Inspired by the magic and violent nature of the North, you will find traces of nostalgic longing, tired memories and dreamy ocean waves in the repetitive guitar patterns and strong vocal delivery.

Her two first singles, ‘BlĂ„ og Gul’ and ‘Honest Mistake’ were both recorded live here at Donau! Listen here: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6O63YYB3On5bHNhCTnpmou?si=iZE905f2T8WRTez38m0NYA
