Calling all songwriters!
Calling all composers and instrumentalists and synth wizards!
Calling all poets and writers and storytellers!
Do you have new solo or duo material you’re itching to present?
Join us for Donau115’s regular open stage series, Two-Song Tuesdays.
Your set may include TWO SONGS or last TEN MINUTES.
“How do I get booked?”
Just show up // There is no pre-booking // Sign up opens at 19:00 (first come, first booked) // The first performer will begin at 20:00 // No soundcheck – so be ready. Slip on, blow minds, slip off.
“What can I play?”
This is entirely up to you. Out of respect for our neighbours:
– you may NOT use loud percussion and loud bass-heavy signals into the PA.
– you are welcome to use our backline, which includes:
— generic vocal microphones
— a small terrible PA, accepting guitar/XLR cables (new one coming soon!)
“But what about Covid-19”
Yep, we know. 🙁 No more than 25 people may be in our stage area at any time. Those wishing to enter after that capacity has been reached can enjoy a drink or a taco in the back room or outside on our sidewalk seating until more spaces become available.
Donau115 is a very fun but weird musician’s musician kind of bar, come expecting oddballs.
Mi, 9. September
Elias Stemeseder/James Banner/Jonas Westergaard
Elias Stemeseder – Piano
James Banner – Bass
Jonas Westergaard – Bass
Do, 10. September
Paul Santner – Gitarre
Fermin Merlo – Drums
Sidney Werner – Bass
These three musicians will present you with their favourite songs, originals and explorations of sound.
All being active members in the Berlin music scene, they strive for an honest expression that serves the music as a whole.
Tonight will mark their first on-stage appearance together and they wish to share their joy in music with you.
Fr, 11. September
Carl Morgan – git
Tom Berkmann – bass
Mathias Ruppnig – drums
Donau Conversations is a monthly concert series presented by Berlin-based drummer Mathias Ruppnig. Each event will feature groups of varying styles and personnel, performing jazz standards, original music or free improvisation.
“For me, Donau115 is a place that allows new musical and personal friendships to form, as well as a place to experiment with innovative musical concepts in front of a respectful and attentive audience.“
Sa, 12. September
The Whisky Sours
Mirna Bogdanovic – voice
Declan Forde – piano
James Banner – double bass
Join us for an evening of rare, forgotten songs from the Great American Songbook.
So, 13. September
Eldar Tsalikov and Greg Cohen
Eldar Tsalikov and Greg Cohen are back at it again.
The duo achieved worldwide fame after their first CD evaporated after being pressed.
The music was so hot, the plastic melted!
These two titans of the music formally known as “jazz” will serenade you with compositions
written by famous melodists of the 20th century.
I find no logical reason for missing this show, other than an extended holiday in Peoria, Illinois.
Please come and join in the fun.
Bass and saxophone hasn’t sounded this good since the wig party was in office.
