Di, 17. August
Two-Song Tuesday // OPEN MIC //

///// TWO-SONG TUESDAY /////
[sign up 19:00 // start 20:00]

[CORONA SAFETY MEASURE: please bring your own microphone if you have one.]
Calling all songwriters!
Calling all composers and instrumentalists and synth wizards!
Calling all poets and writers and storytellers!
Do you have new solo or duo material you’re itching to present? Join us for Donau115’s regular open stage series, Two-Song Tuesdays.
Your set may include TWO SONGS or last TEN MINUTES.
“How do I get booked?”
// Just show up
// There is no pre-booking
// Sign up opens at 19:00 (first come, first booked)
// The first performer will begin at 20:30
// No soundcheck – so be ready. Slip on, blow minds, slip off.
“What can I play?”
This is entirely up to you. Out of respect for our neighbours:
– you may NOT use loud percussion and loud bass-heavy signals into the PA.
– you are welcome to use our backline, which includes:
— piano
— generic vocal microphones
— a small terrible PA, accepting guitar/XLR cables (new one coming soon!)

“But what about Covid-19”
Yep, we know. No more than 25 people may be in our stage area at any time. Those wishing to enter after that capacity has been reached can enjoy a drink or a taco in the back room or outside on our sidewalk seating until more spaces become available.

“Anything else?”
Donau115 is a very fun but weird musician’s musician kind of bar, come expecting oddballs.

Mi, 18. August
Peter Meyer FLOAT

“There is probably no comparable guitarist in Germany who is as versatilely oriented and works as creatively as Peter Meyer,” writes the music magazine Sound and Image. Jazzthetik calls him a “master of sounds”.
FLOAT is the solo project of the Berlin-based musician. Here he combines his unique guitar voice with self-developed digital instruments, sound processors, samplers and sequencers. All influences from sound art, experimental music, jazz improvisation, avant-garde pop, electronics and new music merge together.
Peter Meyer gained national and international attention especially with his longtime band “Melt Trio” (together with his brother Bernhard Meyer and Moritz Baumgärtner). Since 2010, his band have been delighting audiences and the trade press with numerous releases and concerts at home and abroad. In 2015 and 2017 he was nominated for the Echo Jazz.

Do, 19. August
Unsteady State

Sofía Salvo- baritone sax,
Daniel Craig- electronics,
Fyodor Stepanov- bass,
Samuel Hall- percussion

Four Berlin-based musicians explore the uncharted regions at the boarder of sound and noise, electric and acoustic, laminar and turbulent.

Fr, 20. August
Cacace-Graves-Gerstner Helikopter Trio

Ignacio Cacace-Guitar
Johann Graves-Double Bass
Leo Gerstner-Drums

The Trio was formed on the beginning of 2021 for the desire of the three musicians of playing together.
That musical empathy between the three bring as result a fresh-interactive-edgy type of music.
The repertoire the Trio play is really diverse. From original songs written specially for the group to standards and free jazz pieces.

Sa, 21. August
Matilda Abraham

Matilda Abraham makes ambient, electronic pop music. Her sound combines a long-lasting fascination with songwriting with fluid, effortless vocals, warm synthesizers, and intricate song arrangements. Her very personal aesthetic emphasizes stylistic exploration, vocal beauty and emotional openness.
After releasing her debut album in 2016, ‘New Balloon’ Matilda was one of 35 artists selected from thousands of applicants world-wide to take part in the prestigious Red Bull Music Academy residence in Montreal, Canada.
Away (2018), was a bold creative leap and a serious extension of her skills as she fully recorded, produced and mixed the EP herself.
Matilda has appeared in the music of well-known Australian jazz musicians Ben Vanderwal (My Name Is Nobody), Michael Rivett’s Digital Seed and alongside Nate Wood and Orlando LeFleming in Sean Wayland’s Joisey Trio (USA). Her most recent EP ‘Sexpectation’ was released in March 2021 and featured acclaimed artists Wanja Slavin (DE) Takumi Motokawa (JAP) and Carl Morgan (AUS) and was recorded at Red Bull Music Studios, Berlin.
This concert brings together songs from Sexpectation as well as new material arranged specially for this concert.

Matilda Abraham – vocals
Takumi Motokawa – keyboards
Carl Morgan – guitar

So, 22. August

Sophie Lindmüller – vocals, efx
Anna Wohlfarth – piano, nord
Sigmund Rhygh Seljebø – guitar, efx

i’m all ears

the new formed band already played in various duo constellations with each other and now it’s time to bring them all together.
working with acoustic and electronic sounds, within their first concert they are going to present some stylistically mixed tunes
– originals and some of their favorite songs from the world of jazz and folk/pop.
